SEBASTIAN MALEC
Describe your career in the vacation rental industry and how you reached your current position in the company.
I’ve been in the travel game for over a decade, starting as a Content Quality Assurance guy at HolidayCheck and working my way up to Business Development Director at BookingHost. I’m good at building important partnerships, leading sales and marketing projects, and diving into IT stuff. I’ve worked on content in various languages, done market research, kept an eye on competitors, led awesome teams, and always made sure to chat seamlessly with customers from all over the world. At Tedee I took a position of Head of Growth in August 2021.
In your opinion, what are the main current challenges in the vacation rental industry, and how do you think your company can help overcome them?
The vacation rental industry currently grapples with issues like security, efficient guest management, and contactless experiences amid health concerns. Tedee smart locks offer solutions by providing enhanced security, reducing the risks of unauthorized access or lost keys. They streamline guest check-ins/outs through remote access management, allowing property owners to grant or revoke access in real-time. Additionally, by facilitating a seamless, contactless check-in experience, these smart locks cater to health-conscious travelers, ensuring a safer stay. The integration of such technology thus bolsters guest trust and enhances operational efficiency for property owners. The short-term rental sector is swiftly embracing cloud-based access systems, enhancing check-in processes with advanced remote entry technology; I’m eager to engage with industry professionals and exchange insights.
What are your expectations for the 2023 edition of VRWS in Barcelona, and what makes you particularly interested in attending this specific edition?
What makes the 2023 edition particularly compelling could be the industry’s rapid adaptation to post-pandemic norms. With the rising demand for contactless check-ins and enhanced security in the vacation rental space, a platform like VRWS is pivotal to understand evolving consumer needs and market dynamics. This setting provides a fertile ground for technology providers like Tedee to align the innovations with industry requirements.
Could you provide a brief preview of what attendees can expect from your participation during the Vacation Rental World Summit?
