In approaching the 10th edition of the Vacation Rental World Summit, we’re releasing a series of interviews to leaders, key players and highly motivated people in our industry whose companies make a deep impact in our space and will be present at VRWS.
The aim is to get you some insight into these leaders and the company they founded, manage or work for, as well as getting some behind the scenes on their thinking, their motivation and their drive.
Describe your career in the vacation rental industry and how you reached your current position in the company.
Swikly is actually a fintech company, an industry I started working in a few years ago. I love being in the fintech world, it is very challenging. Our solution is mainly used in the vacation rental industry but also in the car rental and healthcare industry. It is very stimulating as Swikly’s Marketing Director to participate in the growth of the company, launching new markets and new areas. Cherry on the cake: Vacation Rental Industry is filled with amazing people and you always have new things to learn!
In your opinion, what are the main current challenges in the vacation rental industry, and how do you think your company can help overcome them?
In my opinion, the main current challenge is that it is very hard for the Property Managers to maintain optimum customer experience when they scale. Nowadays, customers are getting more and more sophisticated. Add to that the reality of their job and a lot of unpredictable things happen anytime, anywhere. Thanks to the psychological effect of the Swikly security deposit, their degradation rates melt and they finally can focus their core business.
The second one which I’ve heard a lot from Property Managers is their workload, especially when they scale. The solution: keep focusing on customer experience and delegate some of the job! Swikly takes care of everything regarding the security deposit: securing and releasing the deposit, claims and customer liaison. And no more money transfer.
Overall, Swikly is a modern, fully online automated solution for security deposits. Thanks to our technology, the guest’s credit card limit is not affected. We are integrated to most of the PMS’s, making it very easy to implement the solution. We receive a lot of messages from Property Managers thanking us for lightening their workload and improving their customer experience!
What are your expectations for the 2023 edition of VRWS in Barcelona, and what makes you particularly interested in attending this specific edition?
We are always thrilled to participate to VRWS. In each edition, we meet new customers that want to upgrade the way they do security deposit. Adding to that, we can meet face to face with some of our 16 000 customers all over Europe: so cool! Above all, it is a precious moment for the team to talk and get feedback from our customers from the field, we are always in the mindset to improve our services. It is also always a pleasure to catch up with our PMS partners and see the whole Vacation Rental Family!
