VRWS Leadership Interview of the Day
In approaching the 11th edition of the Vacation Rental World Summit, we’re releasing a series of interviews to leaders, key players and highly motivated people in our industry whose companies make a deep impact in our space and will be present at VRWS.
The aim is to get you some insight into these leaders and the company they founded, manage or work for, as well as getting some behind the scenes on their thinking, their motivation and their drive.
OSCAR THANOYANNIS
- What do you do for a living and which part of your job do you enjoy the most?
I’m the Global Business Director of Stasher, the world’s first luggage storage platform. What I enjoy most is the diversity of our industry and the variety of people we meet due to our global presence. It’s constantly motivating.
- How does your company innovate or adapt to the evolving needs of the vacation rental space?
We continuously engage with our vacation rental partners to stay updated on industry trends. Our service supports their guests at critical moments, which can significantly impact their experience and reviews. We always push to make their guest experience at check-in or check-out as smooth as possible by developing new integrations to meet their needs (such as guest apps, PMS or standalone marketing materials).
- How do you view the various predictions about AI’s impact on society, ranging from dystopian scenarios to transformative advancements, and how does your company approach or integrate AI technology?
We have a positive outlook on AI. We’ve begun testing AI integration in our customer support chats and internal tools and researching ways to streamline operations.
- What would you like to achieve by attending the Vacation Rental World Summit 2024 in Porto with your company?
Having attended the previous edition of VRWS in Porto, we loved the format, venue, and attendees. This year, we look forward to meeting new vacation rental managers, understanding their needs, and catching up in person with our main partners.
- What are your passions, including any hobbies or sports, that you enjoy discussing and sharing with others outside the professional setting?
Traveling of course (who doesn’t especially us working in this industry?), cooking and tech. I’m also passionate about fitness and boxing, having been a boxer for seven years during my teenage and early twenties.
