VRWS Leadership Interview of the Day
In approaching the 12th edition of the Vacation Rental World Summit, we’re releasing a series of interviews to leaders, key players and highly motivated people in our industry whose companies make a deep impact in our space and will be present at VRWS.
The aim is to get you some insight into these leaders and the company they founded, manage or work for, as well as getting some behind the scenes on their thinking, their motivation and their drive.
Alessandro Poncini
- What inspired you to enter the vacation rental industry?
My journey into the vacation rental industry has been a step-by-step process, with the help of various connections I’ve made along the way. I’ve worked with two OTAs, transitioned to a PMS, and finally arrived at a dynamic pricing tool. Meanwhile, I also managed a few listings. These experiences have allowed me to see the industry from multiple perspectives, and I consider myself lucky to have gained insights into each stage of the ecosystem.
- What sets your company apart in the vacation rental industry, and how do you ensure you stay ahead of the competition?
What sets PriceLabs apart is our vast range of customization options, clean data, and the ability to serve a variety of users: from property and hotel managers to revenue managers to hosts. What keeps us ahead of the competition is our speed in implementing changes and our strong focus on understanding and acting on client feedback. We ensure that we adapt quickly to our customers’ needs, providing them with the most relevant and effective tools available.
- If you attended the 2024 Vacation Rental World Summit in Porto, what was the most exciting or valuable takeaway for you? And looking ahead to the 2025 edition in Rome, what are you hoping to gain or experience this time?
At the 2024 Vacation Rental World Summit in Porto, I really enjoyed the ease of connecting with people and the professionalism of the organization. It was a great experience. For the 2025 edition in Rome, I’m hoping for the same, along with the opportunity to meet more key players in the industry.
- Beyond business, what’s one experience or destination that left a lasting impression on you, and why?
If I had to choose a destination, I would definitely say India. I’ve been there several times in the past, and I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence, fate, or something else, but I kept coming back with PriceLabs for our annual workations. These are truly special moments, where we spend a lot of time together doing team-building and brainstorming. It’s an experience that leaves me with great memories and a stronger connection with the team.
- What’s one fun fact, hidden talent, or little-known secret about you that other attendees should know to spark a great conversation with you?
You can easily spark a conversation with me if we start talking about coffee. One of my passions is visiting coffee farms on-site, and I also have a small coffee roaster at home. I truly enjoy roasting coffee myself, and it’s a fun way to dive deeper into the craft.
