Describe your career in the vacation rental industry and how you reached your current position in the company.
My journey in the vacation rental industry has been truly transformative. Having come from a background in the Building and Construction sector, where I helped shift the focus towards customer-centric strategies, I decided to follow my passion for making a positive impact on hosts and guests in the vacation rental industry. Fascinated by the dynamics and the growth of the industry, I recognized the opportunity to leverage my skills for enhancing host experiences by providing the tools they need to integrate their processes and systems to excel in operational excellence and create memorable guest experiences.
In your opinion, what are the main current challenges in the vacation rental industry, and how do you think your company can help overcome them?
Providing a seamless guest experience, from booking to check-out, is definitely one of the main challenges vacation rental hosts have to face. Issues with communication, key exchange, or property maintenance could impact overall satisfaction and thus a positive guest review. This is especially challenging when scaling the business and handling multiple properties at the same time. With the Nuki Smart Lock, we are able to offer hosts a comfortable automated key handover. You simply share digital entry codes while offering your guests a flexible 24/7 check-in. Through a smooth integration with partners like Airbnb or Smoobu, digital keys are sent fully automatically directly from your system.
What are your expectations for the 2023 edition of VRWS in Barcelona, and what makes you particularly interested in attending this specific edition?
We are very much looking forward to the VRWS in Barcelona to connect with global industry peers, exchange ideas and learn what’s currently driving the short-term rental industry. But most importantly to connect with hosts and property managers to help level up their business. It is always a delight to meet up in person and use the positive energy to explore together approaches and solutions to stay ahead of the game of being better hosts. The VRWS offers an excellent framework with lots of professional input balanced with time and space to mingle and exchange experiences in the break out sessions.
Could you provide a brief preview of what attendees can expect from your participation during the Vacation Rental World Summit?
