1. What do you do for a living and which part of your job do you enjoy the most?

As the Head of Business Unit B2B at Nuki, I oversee the development and implementation of smart access solutions for the vacation rental industry. The part of my job I enjoy the most is collaborating with hosts to streamline their operations and enhance the guest experience. Seeing how our innovations make a tangible difference in their day-to-day operations is incredibly rewarding – like being a digital locksmith, but without the dramatic cape.

2. How does your company innovate or adapt to the evolving needs of the vacation rental space?

Nuki continually adapts to the needs of the vacation rental industry by focusing on seamless integration and automation. We listen to our customers and incorporate their feedback into our product development and constantly expand our integration partner network. Our smart lock technology, which allows for automated key handovers and integrates smoothly with platforms like Airbnb, is an example of our commitment to making the life of hosts easier as well as improving the experience of their guests.

3. How do you view the various predictions about AI’s impact on society, ranging from dystopian scenarios to transformative advancements, and how does your company approach or integrate AI technology?

I see AI as a powerful tool with the potential to transform industries positively, including the vacation rental space. While there are legitimate concerns about AI, I believe its benefits, when used responsibly, far outweigh the risks.

4. What would you like to achieve by attending the Vacation Rental World Summit 2024 in Porto with your company?

Attending the Vacation Rental World Summit in Porto this year, I aim to connect with industry peers, learn about the latest trends, and share insights about our innovations at Nuki. It’s an excellent opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and collaborate on solutions that can drive the industry forward. I also look forward to meeting hosts and property managers to understand their needs better and demonstrate how our solution can help them achieve their goals. Plus, it’s a great excuse to sample some Portuguese cuisine—purely for research purposes, of course.

5. What are your passions, including any hobbies or sports, that you enjoy discussing and sharing with others outside the professional setting?

Outside of work, I am passionate about hiking and exploring the outdoors together with my family on the mountain bike. I find it rejuvenating and it gives me a fresh perspective when I return to work. I also enjoy reading about the latest technological advancements and how they can be applied in various fields. Discussing these interests with others often leads to inspiring conversations and new ideas. And if you ever need a hiking or biking buddy who can also delve into the world of smart lock technology, I’m your person.

Looking forward to seeing you there.
