RICARDO FIGUEIREIDO
Describe your career in the vacation rental industry and how you reached your current position in the company.
In 2017, I decided to rent an apartment and do a short-term rental with it. From that experience, and after receiving dozens of requests from guests asking to check in earlier or check out later due to luggage, I understood all STRs managers in the world somehow felt that that the solutions (lockers or physical stores) were far from the best experience. That’s why I founded LUGGit.
In your opinion, what are the main current challenges in the vacation rental industry, and how do you think your company can help overcome them?
STR managers want to provide the best experience possible for their guests, that’s for sure. Most of the time, the luggage forbids them to do that because someone who is arriving has a conflict with someone who’s leaving due to luggage. So LUGGit helps hosts to free themselves of these questions while offering a premium service to their guests.
What are your expectations for the 2023 edition of VRWS in Barcelona, and what makes you particularly interested in attending this specific edition?
LUGGit is growing in Spain. We opened Barcelona in July 2022 and Madrid in July 2023, so being part of a recognised event like VRWS means a lot to us to establish LUGGit as the luggage short-term rental provider worldwide.
