VRWS Leadership Interview of the Day
In approaching the 11th edition of the Vacation Rental World Summit, we’re releasing a series of interviews to leaders, key players and highly motivated people in our industry whose companies make a deep impact in our space and will be present at VRWS.
The aim is to get you some insight into these leaders and the company they founded, manage or work for, as well as getting some behind the scenes on their thinking, their motivation and their drive.
Vasilis Iliakis
- What do you do for a living and which part of your job do you enjoy the most?
I am the product owner of loggia – the vacations rental platform of the company “webhotelier | primalres”. I am also the Head of Rentals in the group – dealing with the rentlas industry in general – beyond the technical aspect. As leaders in the Greek and Cypriot markets I am blessed to be able to cooperate with so many channels, tools, ideas and officials that affect this exciting industry.
- How does your company innovate or adapt to the evolving needs of the vacation rental space?
Loggia is a complete platform with Property Managers in mind. The automations and workflow of a reservation – before / during stay / after departure is unique for the industry. Also due to the fact that we are leaders in solutions for the hotel industry we have adapted sales tools and techniques that make our clients more competitive and flexible – getting better results.
- How do you view the various predictions about AI’s impact on society, ranging from dystopian scenarios to transformative advancements, and how does your company approach or integrate AI technology?
AI is a tool – useful for a wide range of disciplines. For the vacation rental industry it is almost a necessity in two areas: the customer support (as there is no physical presence very often) and the sales which is a very competitive field with complex parameters.
- What would you like to achieve by attending the Vacation Rental World Summit 2024 in Porto with your company?
Loggia is a platform that could service and provide automations, connectivity and a full accounting module to an international audience. We would like to invite property managers from all over the world to our complete vacation rentals platform.
- What are your passions, including any hobbies or sports, that you enjoy discussing and sharing with others outside the professional setting?
I do have a family that I enjoy traveling with – and I do it very often. I like nature and I do enduro excursions all over Greece. I also take advantage of living in Crete / Greece and enjoy scuba diving and the mediterranean sea.
