VRWS Leadership Interview of the Day
In approaching the 12th edition of the Vacation Rental World Summit, we’re releasing a series of interviews to leaders, key players and highly motivated people in our industry whose companies make a deep impact in our space and will be present at VRWS.

Alexander Caravitis
- What inspired you to enter the vacation rental industry?
I got into the vacation rental space out of frustration. I was managing my own rentals and dealing with the nightmare of manually syncing calendars across multiple platforms. Double bookings, missed messages, constant stress—I knew there had to be a better way. When I couldn’t find a solution that worked 100%, I built one. That’s how Hosthub (originally Syncbnb) was born.
- What sets your company apart in the vacation rental industry, and how do you ensure you stay ahead of the competition?
Three things:

- Tech + human touch. We use AI for speed but also have real people checking things to ensure accuracy.
- All-in-one platform. We started with calendar sync, but now we offer everything a host needs—direct booking tools, automation, analytics, and more.

- If you attended the 2024 Vacation Rental World Summit in Porto, what was the most exciting or valuable takeaway for you? And looking ahead to the 2025 edition in Rome, what are you hoping to gain or experience this time?
Unfortunately we couldn’t make it to Porto, but hey, Rome will rectify that 🙂
- Beyond business, what’s one experience or destination that left a lasting impression on you, and why?
Catalonia blew me away. From the energy of Barcelona to the rugged beauty of Costa Brava, it’s a place that has everything—history, architecture, nature, and incredible food. Hiking in Montserrat, exploring medieval villages like Besalú, and eating my weight in tapas and seafood along the coast were unforgettable experiences. But what really stuck with me was how effortlessly Catalonia blends old and new—you can go from a centuries-old market to a cutting-edge design district in minutes. It’s a place I always look forward to going back to.
- What’s one fun fact, hidden talent, or little-known secret about you that other attendees should know to spark a great conversation with you?
I used to paraglide for 12 years – even got some medals in competitions! Then family came, and I had to start thinking more about others than myself. I also love long hikes in the mountains, mountain skiing, and vibe coding!
