Head of Sales - Homeit

Describe your career in the vacation rental industry and how you reached your current position in the company.

My introduction to the vacation rental industry began in 2015 when I hosted on Airbnb in Lisbon. At the time, I was working abroad, often relying on my family to greet guests in my absence. It’s no wonder that I was drawn to homeit, a small startup promising keyless check-ins. Starting with them in 2016 when they had just under 100 customers, my passion for the industry has only deepened. Today, homeit has expanded its presence to over 17 countries and stands as a significant player in the keyless entry space, especially in Southern Europe. I’m quite proud to have contributed to this as the head of sales at Homeit. 

In your opinion, what are the main current challenges in the vacation rental industry, and how do you think your company can help overcome them?

From my perspective, I identify several relevant challenges in the vacation rental industry. Among them, I highlight the growing level of competition, which makes it imperative to find innovative approaches to stand out in the market. Additionally, efficient property management and ensuring a high-quality experience for guests are critical factors for the reputation and success of our clients.

In this context, homeit plays a key role in overcoming these obstacles. Through our technological solutions for managing access to shared spaces, we are able to provide property owners and vacation rental managers with an effective means of controlling and monitoring their properties remotely. This not only simplifies daily operations but also enhances security and the overall guest experience.

Furthermore, our ongoing focus on innovation allows us to quickly adapt to the changing needs of the market. We are constantly developing new features and improvements for our platform, with the purpose of equipping our clients with the essential tools to stand out from the competition.

What are your expectations for the 2023 edition of VRWS in Barcelona, and what makes you particularly interested in attending this specific edition?

My expectations for the 2023 edition of VRWS in Barcelona are profoundly optimistic. This event offers us a unique opportunity to establish connections with prominent professionals and share knowledge with others pears vacation rentals. 

First and foremost, I highlight the networking that takes place with a diverse range of participants, from technology experts to property managers. I am confident that we will forge new connections that could pave the way for strategic partnerships and business opportunities.

Furthermore, the significant knowledge sharing is noteworthy. The conferences and panels provide a singular occasion to gain insights from experts in various areas related to the vacation rental industry. The exchange of ideas and experiences will enrich our understanding of present challenges and trends.

In the third place, technological innovation takes the spotlight. The vacation rental industry is constantly evolving, driven by technology. I am convinced that VRWS will showcase the latest innovations, making it essential for us to stay updated to ensure that our solutions at homeit remain aligned with market needs.

Lastly, brand visibility is also a highly relevant aspect. Participating in this event provides us with the opportunity to enhance the recognition of homeit and our solutions before a global audience. We aim to underscore our innovative approach to managing access to shared spaces.

Could you provide a brief preview of what attendees can expect from your participation during the Vacation Rental World Summit?
