VRWS Leadership Interview of the Day

In approaching the 9th edition of the Vacation Rental World Summit, we’re releasing a series of interviews to leaders, key players and highly motivated people in our industry whose companies make a deep impact in our space and will be present at VRWS.

The aim is to get you some insight into these leaders and the company they founded, manage or work for, as well as getting some behind the scenes on their thinking, their motivation and their drive.

How would you describe your career path and what brought you to Guesty?

“Before joining Guesty I devoted most of my career to the digital marketing space. I co-founded a marketing agency in 1996 in Brazil. For over 17 years I was involved in projects for all sorts of businesses which got me in touch with the tech side of many industries. When I moved to Portugal in 2014, I specialized in marketing strategies for Property Management Companies having worked for Feels Like Home, RentExperience and ALTIDO, as marketing director. Moving to Guesty felt like a natural step since here I can apply my marketing, tech and property management backgrounds.”

“Experienced marketing and communications executive with over 30 years of experience, 20 in leadership roles. 7 years in the hospitality business”, your LinkedIn experience says. What does it take to be a modern head of marketing in such a complex world? 

“From a marketing perspective, I don’t think the world is complex. People are still driven by values the same way they’ve always been. A Property Management Company must offer trust and peace of mind to owners and guests. A Property Management System must offer a reliable set of solutions that will help managers scale and optimize their operational efficiency so property managers can fulfil their promises to those same owners and guests.

Nowadays we have access to more data and resources to drive our efforts more efficiently and effectively. The real challenge is fine-tuning the right message crafted for the right audience at the right touchpoint. Especially in an industry that is still consolidating and so priorities change faster than in other industries.”

Let’s say for the purpose of the interview that Guesty is exhibiting at an in-person event. A property manager approaches you to find out more. How would you describe the benefits Guesty provides?

VRWS 22 is about to land in Porto. What do you expect from the overall experience?
