VRWS Leadership Interview of the Day
In approaching the 9th edition of the Vacation Rental World Summit, we’re releasing a series of interviews to leaders, key players and highly motivated people in our industry whose companies make a deep impact in our space and will be present at VRWS.
The aim is to get you some insight into these leaders and the company they founded, manage or work for, as well as getting some behind the scenes on their thinking, their motivation and their drive.

ANTONIO CORTEZ FRAGATEIRO
How would you describe your career path and what brought you to GuestReady?
“My career path until now has been driven by a constant desire and need to learn. As soon as I graduated, I started working in a family-run company as an assistant to the management team. From there, I moved on to an investment brokerage firm and then transitioned to an investment bank. In this corporate environment, I realized that I needed something moving at a faster pace and where I could have a direct influence on the overall business. In October 2018 I joined GuestReady as a City Manager in Porto, in 2020 I became the Country Manager for Portugal, and in 2021 I took on my current role of Global Head of Sales while also enrolling in an MBA program. “
What makes you the European leading property management company?
“I believe there are three fundamental aspects that enable us to be where we are: People, organizational setup, and the drive to bring quality to everything we do.Â
People: We are now more than 250 teammates from 40+ nationalities, distributed across offices in 7 countries, and while most of us work in a hybrid remote/office way, 15% of our team works fully remotely across the world.Â
Organizational set up: We are asset light, have clear established processes, and leverage what we believe is the best PMS in the market (check out www.rentalready.io), one of the only PMS created by a Property Management Company for other Property Management Companies.Â
Quality: We are obsessed with quality – the quality of service we provide to our hosts as much as the quality of service we provide to our guests. We are resolutely critical of the service we provide, and keep on improving every day.”
Just recently GuestReady’s audience on LinkedIn has been alerted that the company has more than a hundred job offers open. How’ve you been managing this rapid growth so far?
“During the pandemic period, we spent time building processes and getting ready for this rapid growth. We are now executing on our plan. Our ambitious plans need to be fueled by a great and growing team, we are looking to have the best candidates join us, and this can become an overwhelming task due to the growth speed. Thankfully, our Talent Acquisition team does a great job at creating the right hiring processes, so that we – hiring managers – dedicate the right amount of time to it.Â
Since the beginning of the year we have hired 70+ people and there is no sign of slow down, for anyone interested in collaborating with GuestReady, check out our LinkedIn page and https://jobs.guestready.com/”
VRWS 22 is about to land in Porto. What do you expect from the overall experience?
“The fact that this year’s venue is Porto is great – I’m a local, and I love my city. For everyone else who is coming from abroad, I am confident they’ll have a great time – Alfandega is super charming, spacious and close to the river and the city center. The event itself already seems like a success, there will be a lot of relevant content within the conference – the sponsors and speakers are the most relevant in the industry, and from what I know, there are already 400+ attendees. I look forward to meet everyone in-person.”
You’ll have the opportunity to meet Antonio and the GuestReady Team on Sept. 15th-16th at VRWS
