VRWS Leadership Interview of the Day
In approaching the 12th edition of the Vacation Rental World Summit, we’re releasing a series of interviews to leaders, key players and highly motivated people in our industry whose companies make a deep impact in our space and will be present at VRWS.
The aim is to get you some insight into these leaders and the company they founded, manage or work for, as well as getting some behind the scenes on their thinking, their motivation and their drive.
Antonio Laveneziana
- What inspired you to enter the vacation rental industry?
My journey into the vacation rental industry was inspired by my profound love for travel but also because I wanted to join Airbnb which was modernizing the entire industry. I realized that staying in a vacation rental often provided a more personal and authentic experience than traditional hotels. I am passionate about ensuring that every guest feels at home, and I see this industry as a fantastic opportunity to connect with people and share the beauty of my local area.
- What sets your company apart in the vacation rental industry, and how do you ensure you stay ahead of the competition?
Airbnb commitment to great customer experience. We are obsessed with delivering an authentic and local experience to our guests partnering with our host community. We collect feedback from hosts and guests and we deliver on them twice a year when we launch our product release.
- If you attended the 2024 Vacation Rental World Summit in Porto, what was the most exciting or valuable takeaway for you? And looking ahead to the 2025 edition in Rome, what are you hoping to gain or experience this time?
Unfortunately I didn’t attend the VRWS in Porto last year but I’m super excited about meeting my peers this year in Rome, learning about new trends in the industry and main opportunities and challenges we are all facing.
- Beyond business, what’s one experience or destination that left a lasting impression on you, and why?
During my family trip to Puglia last May we had an amazing Michelin restaurant experience, the entire restaurant was for us and we spent three hours learning about the food culture and tradition. It’s always great to learn from local people especially when it comes to food which is part of Italian culture.
- What’s one fun fact, hidden talent, or little-known secret about you that other attendees should know to spark a great conversation with you?
I love sport, I’m into running and triathlon.
