Can you craft a clean, simple yet visually compelling presentation that gets your points across?

Can you make it in 20 minutes as a TED Talk – or up to 35 minutes if it’s a panel discussion (and allow 10 more minutes for Q&A at the end)?

What do you know that we don’t? What information can you share that can help PMs and Hosts make better decisions in urban/leisure areas across Europe, North America and the rest of the world?
SUSTAINABILITY
Show practical, tangible things your colleagues can do to make their business sustainable, both on the Guest side and internally. Build a roadmap to implement what you show, so they can take it away and do the job.
REGULATIONS
With all the threats to operating STRs in Europe and North America, show what can be done to work in our favour. Give examples, how to’s, and whatever is needed to make sure STRs remain legit. This is a very interesting topic for a panel discussion.
MARKETING
How to get more direct, repeat bookings; proven strategies you/your peers have been using (website, mailings, social media, referrals, word of mouth, etc.)
OPERATIONS
How to streamline workflows, manage operations effortlessly, save time and cut costs/increase margins.
GUEST EXPERIENCE
What do you do that makes you stand out, that makes your guests go wow every time? Which ‘secrets’ are you willing to share with peers from all over the world to help them stand out? What makes your guests tell you they’ve never had ‘that’ special thought, surprise, gift, given to them in any other property they stayed in? What makes you/the service/the experience you give so memorable?

Which best practices determined your success? Can you share them in a way that can be applied by others too?

TIPS for a great Presentation:

Presentation Slide Ratio – 16:9
Less is More; don’t clog slides with too much content or you’ll lose your audience
Use a tool to make your presentations stand out (Eg: Canva, Prezi)
3 Keywords/Concepts per slide; people understand better and remember things clearly if you divide content in chunks of 3 (see “rule of three” here and here)
Use BIG FONTS (Size to give you an idea starting from 28 up to 100+); remember that your slide must be read by hundreds of people, from even very far away and must be clear and immediate. Again, Less is More.
Use Video (pre-recorded and set to autoplay or play with single click – avoid connecting to a video hosted on the internet while presenting, embed it in a slide instead) to entertain, engage the audience and break rythm.
If you have bullet points in a slide, show them one by one via animation and NOT altogether as your audience will read them all faster than you can explain, won’t follow you and you’ll lose their focus.

Video Materials – Send us a video recording of a session you gave on stage at another event, if you have it.

If you don’t have a video recording, record a short video to start presenting the first 5 minutes of your Slide Deck.
